Final Score: Trafford 1 Altrincham 5. Altrincham paraded new signing, Steven Gillespie at Shawe View this afternoon & the 29 year olld striker was on target with a perfect header as the Robins scored 4 times in an impressive 1st half display. Lee Sinnotts side raced into a 3-0 lead in 16 minutes with a header from Shaun Densmore & a couple of neat finishes from Damian Reeves. Trafford reduced the arrears from Mark Darbyshires header before Gillespie produced a perfect header from Wade Joyces cross.Gillespie was replaced by James Lawrie at half time & it was Lawrie who won a penalty midway through the second half when he was tripped just inside the box.Greg Wilkinson confidently sent Tom Read the wrong way from the spot kick. This was a good performance by Alty who have won all 4 pre-season games to date but the highlight of the day is undoubtedly the signing of Gilllespie to replace the departed James Walshaw.
