Final Word "The purpose of the Voting Right act was to constraint - TopicsExpress

Final Word "The purpose of the Voting Right act was to constraint people with prejudice hearts from acting prejudicially in the political arena to such an extent that deny others their political freedom and rights. The key words here is constraint people with prejudice hearts. The constraints are now gone but the prejudice hearts are still here. Moreover, these prejudice hearten people are still in power in many jurisdictions and still have the mindset to deny equal treatment and to work against the right of minorities to exercise their political power through the ballot box. The Voting Rights Act perhaps does not need to last forever as the prejudice hearten are replaced by fair minded people, but that is not the case at this point as illustrated by the massive voting denial effort in the passed presidential election. Look for the prejudice hearten now to go after minority voting rights with a vengeance. Also, look for increased deep acrimony and division in the society."
