Final member of our 23 man squad is Aaron Payas of Lincoln Red - TopicsExpress

Final member of our 23 man squad is Aaron Payas of Lincoln Red Imps FC. National Manager Allen Bula had stated the following in relation to his final call up and why the squad was released early: After carefully looking at several midfielders, such as Brian Perez, Liam Clarke, Jamie Bosio, I have opted for a defensive midfielder who can also give me that precise long and short ball passing game. Aaron ticks all those boxes. Aaron brings into squad his great vision and technique to pin balls exactly where he wants them to go. Furthermore he can also defend very well, and has experience of playing in Europe. Brian Perez has returned from several injuries and overall he is showing that great talent he has, and if he carries on the way he is playing, great technique and discipline, will be back in the squad in no time. Liam Clarke is another player that I am watching closely and have called him up before to squad. He is another player that is now showing to me that he has worked hard to correct certain areas of his football skills, and again is a player that I see being called up if he carries on playing like he is in the very near future. Jamie Bosio, is a young talent who is improving by the day. Another player who should he carry on developing strongly will be called up in the very near future. In order to correct an issue ref a comment I made last year in relation to only picking max 9 players from one team. Early this year I rectified that decision. As you can see I have selected 10 players from Lincoln, and have not selected more simply for the reasons stated above on some of the players. Should I need to pick 10/11 or 12 players from one team in the next game, I will. The reasons for me announcing my squad so early are as follows: 1: there was only going to be 1 competitive match in gibraltar and that is the Pepe Reyes Cup and I would never pick players on just seeing them in one match. 2: Most of our players are amateurs and they need to advise their work place, well in advance to secure leave, and even with over two weeks advice, some are having to make changes in their shift work, in order to get the needed days off. With professionals its different as clubs are obliged by Uefa to release players, 3: Uefa ruling states that we must advise clubs at least 15 days prior to a match the release of players.
