Final post from lovely Bucharest, Romania. So very happy to be heading home, a mere 22 hours, 3 flights, 4 airports and I will be there. All and all a very nice city. It is former Soviet Union (FSU!) so you have to take the good with the bad, lovely old European city combined with plenty of crap. Gives one a great appreciation for Marriott hotels. People know all the Americans hang out at the Marriott, reason why in some countries they are targets, but the place is a little island of sanity in a crazy town, one much appreciated when you have to stay more than a day or two. A few pictures, a couple of their parliament, right next to the hotel. Worlds second largest office building behind the Pentagon. Took some POCs of the area around the conference. Marriott was beautiful, but they held the conference in a (much) lower tier hotel. Hotel has an odd story, they but is south of town for a new airport, to be but In the swamp across the street....then political winds shifted and they never built the airport. So this hotel is a sort of abandoned property...and you could tell. Check out the utility pole out front, very Eastern European. I Cant wait to get home!!!
