Finally, FINALLY made my top eleven list list of for 2013. Now - TopicsExpress

Finally, FINALLY made my top eleven list list of for 2013. Now keep in mind, these arent in any specific order until about the 5 mark, so enjoy! 11. Rush: This was a really tightly directed bio-pic with two terrifically charismatic leads portraying one of the most interesting feuds in sports history. 10. Pacific Rim: I think this was the most fun time I had in a theater last year. Del Toro knows how to make a big, loud action film that doesnt insult our intelligence. 9. Pain and Gain: Yeah I know how dare I put this on the best of? But Im sorry, Bay made a darkly funny comedy/satire of American greed and excess with some despicable villains where his style, for once, suited it. 8. 12 Years a Slave: This was a biting and jarring look into slavery that was acted so well, Chiwetel gave McConaughey a run for his money, and thats saying a lot. 7. Gravity: What a ride this movie is. This a director making a film that is just tension personified in an hour in a half. It looks great, sounds great, has a complex lead heroine and has one of the best endings of last year. 6. The Worlds End: Edgar Wright has been one of my favorite directors for a while, and with this film he simultaneously closes the Cornetto trilogy while making a funny commentary on mankind and living in the past. 5. Dallas Buyers Club: Matthew McConaughey totally earned his Oscar in this movie. This was an entertaining story about one mans journey to create equal opportunity for people affected by an awful disease. 4. Wolf of Wall Street: Scorsese and DiCaprio craft a debaucherous tale of money and how it will drive people to do awful things as well as some hilarity. 3. Her: As a person who really enjoys a good romantic movie, this was a wet dream. Spike Jonze made a really interesting and introspective commentary on relationships with a neat Sci-Fi twist and believable characters. 2. Inside Llewyn Davis: A sort of bio-pic about a non-existent musician loosely based on a real person. The Coen Brothers made a story about a man finding his way through the 60s folk scene who may not exactly be likeable but you can still relate to him. the cinematography is also gorgeous and it really feels like the 60s. Oh, and the soundtrack also rules. 1. Nebraska: Alexander Payne made such a touching movie about aging and time gone by. The characters feel so real and authentic and their journey so poignant that the ending was the only ending that almost brought me to tears. Kudos, Payne and crew for the most moving picture of 2013. Hope you guys enjoyed this. Thank you.
