Finally! It’s time to announce our plans for opening the new Sacred Grounds Coffee and Tea House on the banks of the beautiful and very close, Rio Ruidoso. It was in the paper Friday but the dates were a bit wrong. Here is the Official, and correct, Schedule: Starting tomorrow, Monday, January 26 and continuing every day through Saturday, January 31, we will be having a series of “Open Houses” at 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM each day for groups of 20. We’re calling these sessions “Customer Training and Tours”. There will be some differences in the way we do things so we thought we’d better train you while we’re training ourselves. Each day, a different staff member will be assisting Rebecca and me in the Open House sessions. The weather threw us a curve last week and we didn’t get some of the building punch list items taken care of but we’ll shoehorn them in this week—weather permitting. To attend one—or more—of our open houses, pick your day and time and sign up at the “old” Sacred Grounds at 2825 Sudderth or by calling 575-257-2273. We’ll have some new food items to try at each session and we’ll be conducting a survey to get your input on what you want to see—and eat—at the new Sacred Grounds. Assuming all goes according to plan, we will be open at the “Old” Sacred Grounds through Feb 1. Then, on Feb 2, we’ll be closed to enable us to move all our existing equipment to our new digs, have the required Village and environmental inspections, and be ready to open the following week. If we can pull it off, we’ll have coffee at both places during the week we are shut down. (Can’t let you make new habits somewhere else, you know.) Monday, February 9 through Wednesday, February 11, we’ll have a “soft” opening for our special friends and customers. In other words, YOU. Our official opening of the new Sacred Grounds Coffee and Tea House for the general public will be Valentine’s Day weekend: February 12-15 with special events, foods, and music. Also, movies return to Saturday night at Sacred Grounds on Valentine’s Day evening on our “bigger” screen. (Nope, not telling what the movie is yet.) We’re very excited about everything and we hope you’ll enjoy our new, and permanent, home. It has been an ordeal but we think you’ll like our new digs. We did it as much for you as for us.
