Finally. Some clarity. On another note, I have a buddy that just went into the army. We had a nice long chat about the ideological underpinnings as to why the military even exists, and what his motivations were (whether they were attached to those underpinnings or something else). The brunt of his reasoning for entering was 1. He was sick of the corporate world, and 2. He knew that above all else he was going to achieve multiple things....1. A relatively decent retirement that was guaranteed. 2. Full benefits, and 3. The potentiality to travel on someone elses dollar (all of this accomplished by taxes obv.). From my time in the military, I can say that most people I worked with did not join to fight the bad guys...I did...foolishly (well, at least, it was implied by the job I wanted to do), but most people dont. They join because its better than their current condition -- subjectively, of course...which is what economics is all about: Understanding the incentives for rational decision making (ie purposeful action with intent and will). #Agorist
