Finally a big cat...!!! It was not all that great safari for us at Bandipur & this was my 4th & 5th visit in 2 months...On the first day we did sight a female tiger but were disappointed that none of us got a picture of her. On the second day we had our fingers crossed for our second safari. On the way we did get some good bird pictures but the big cats were eluding us. It was late in the evening we were all desperate & frustrated. Kiran our driver had taken us to all the nooks & corners of the jungle. Again we got little excited as a documentary film maker & wild life enthusiast on the way told us that he had heard alarm calls. We rushed to the spot & could find some spotted deers & boars. It was getting darker & i had given up & was trying to pack up my camera. Just then Rayees had a glimpse of something around 75 meters away & he was sure that it was our prize catch, and finally there he was a magnificient young male leopard staring at us. Sight of us made him hide in a bush. This image was all i could manage, but still we were thrilled that we did spot him...!!! @ Bandipur 25-3-14.
