Finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Surgeons partner came in early this morning and they both reviewed the MRI they found that yes he has an infection in the toe BUT not in the bone! No surgery to remove the toe. He has fluid built up in the canal where they removed the screw that was put in there a couple years ago. The antibiotics will clear that up. They will continue to do blood test daily and will also continue the IV antibiotics for a few weeks. The Hosp dr and case manager will be in this afternoon to discuss when he will be sent to rehab facility. Case manager is also going to set up all necessary care that will be required once we return home. He will be able to continue his IV antibiotics at home. Looks as if we will be coming home sooner than later :)
