Finally, a translation of Chasing Ice, the multi-award winning documentary, has been completed by six devoted and talented students of mine; Alex, Chris, Connor, Elisa, Esther, and Julie. 드디어, 다양한 상을 석권한 다큐멘터리 영화,빙하를 쫓아서의 번역이 여섯 명- Alex, Cho Chris, Harrison Connor, Elisa, Esther, and Julie-의 열정과 재능으로 똘똘 뭉친 아이들에의해 완성되었습니다. It has been a long month for my students and me. They sacrificed their weekends and some holidays to translate and proofread it over and over again. They worked extra hard and persevered to the end. 아이들과 저에게 정말 길고 긴 10월이었습니다. 주말과 휴일을 포기하고 번역과 교정 작업을 반복했습니다. 아이들은 끝까지 인내심 가지고 최선을 다해주었습니다. We started with eight students. But, while working on this project, two of the students had some struggles with their home computers and their personal schedules. Because of this, the other students divided the two students’ tasks among themselves and finished the project. 여덟 명의 학생으로 시작하였습니다만 이 프로젝트 도중 두 명의 학생이 자신의 집의 컴퓨터 문제와 개인 스케줄로 인해 함께 하지 못하는 상황도 발생하였습니다. 그래서 나머지 학생들이 이 두 학생들의 작업을 나누어 기특하게도 마무리를 지어주었습니다. This project is completely their own work and not the work of others. Since their computer knowledge and Korean proficiency are as good as or even better than mine, they took part in the editing and proofreading sessions with me. 이 프로젝트는 남의 일이 아닌 온전히 그들 자신의 일이었습니다. 컴퓨터 지식이나 한국어 능력에 있어 저와 비슷하거나 오히려 더 나은 우리 아이들은 편집 수정작업에도 빠지지 않고 함께 하였습니다. They even shared their active and brilliant ideas in choosing the font and the color and the size of the font for adding Korean subtitles to an actual movie. According to duration of each scene of the original movie, they help me to re-revise it to make the subtitles easier for future Korean audience to read and understand. 원본 영화에 한국어 자막파일을 넣는 작업에 필요한 ,서체, 서체의 크기와 색깔을 선택하는 일도 도맡아 했습니다. 원본 영화의 각 장면의 길이에 맞춰 한국인 관객들이 읽고 이해하기 쉽게 하기위해 자막을 재교정하는 작업도 함께 하였습니다.
