Finally after a very long day I am back to my room. An interesting day it has been, however I have to share my experience and hope that we as Kenyans can learn something or two. Today has been a rather busy day moving from one meeting to another within the Hotel and outside as well. While running around I couldnt help but notice the people of Turkey, enjoying their Sunday in different places and areas. Everything seemed very normal for the 20 million citizens of Turkey residing in Istanbul which is the Business hub of Turkey. Anyone who came here would never have thought or even realized that the country was going through its very first Presidential Election. The most interesting bit is that the elections were done on a Sunday so that they dont in anyway affect the normal working hours. They started early morning and by 5 pm stations were closed, by 9 pm the president elect was known. The country is normal and had it not Been for one of the Hosts who is a personal friend to the president Elect, I would not have known there was elections going on. Our leaders and Country should learn from this example that we dont need to have a public Holiday for us to vote neither do we need many days of instability in our Country. Well I would have written much more but my eyes are unable to stay open. May our Country and Our people have a blessed life.
