Finally back from Canberra. It was good to catch up with all my friends, colleagues and comrades at the NTEU National Council. Staying at University House was like a trip back in time to my university days at the ANU during the Whitlam years. Visited the Student Union, and had the red carpet rolled out as a former President and Honorary Life Member. We had a good demo outside the new parliament, and visited the Aboriginal Tent Embassy outside the old parliament. Had a lovely dinner with one of my dearest friends from the ANU days, and reminisced about chasing Malcolm Fraser to his car on 11 November 1975, as well as many other fond memories such as being expelled from John XXIII College in 1974, and occupying the Chancellery in the same year.
