Finally driving the Jeep with the new 360 in it. Had a few hiccups with ignition and had to track down a couple bugs in the distributor, and had to work past some ground issues (remounted solenoids to tube fenders). Also, had to fight yesterday with a oil pressure issue followed by a dead battery. I guess an older AMC 360 doesnt like 10W-30 oil. :) I did a oil change (it was already a little dirty anyway from clearing some of the old sludge) and replacing with 20W-50 and a little Lucas Oil Treatment. Great pressure now. This thing is impressively more power than the 258. Quick on the acceleration lane. Slings the mud it used to push through. Can even break free both rear 33s if I floor it from a stop. Its a whole new Jeep. After I get timing and carb right, it should be even better. Cant wait to get it out to Gilligans. On a side note, my Optima Red Top died on me. It was already in the Jeep when I bout it a few years ago, so no idea how old it is. I am running a recondition on it, and hope that revives it. $200 is an expensive battery. :)
