Finally finished editing the Wing Chun wooden dummy seminar. In the end, it took me about 35 hours to go through 7 hours and 50 50 minutes of footage, going back and forth, listening to parts, then copying frames to cut and splice in several spots. This could take several moments, as I would have to go back and forth to find the EXACT spot where I wanted to make the cut. Then I would have to go to the copied frame, and then repeat the process in where I wanted to pick up. Digital may be easier, but at least with analog, one could just look at the frame by frame in hand. Anyway, it is done, and is now converting to a movie file, 12.2 GB in size. When I get the money, I will buy the next upgrade, which will allow me to produce HD quality product. Given that I have an HD camera, it would stand to reason I would want to do that. In the end, even though I fumbled in parts, I am more confident being in front of a camera now than before. I felt it came off nicely. I am just amazed that even though I give the appearance that I know quite a bit about Wing Chun, I still learn so much! I know probably twice a much as when I started teaching almost 14 years ago, and will probably know even more still when another 14 years have passed. October 19th will mark my 24th year. That is hard for me to believe...
