Finally finished watching the final episode of Penny Dreadful, a show that we have enjoyed immensely. A fantastic horror series that not only provided plenty of scares, gore, suspense, action and err Grand Guignol (see what I did there? Haha) but also a healthy helping of heart wrenching tragedy. But these are not the only ingredients that makes it so special; following are some of the highlights of the series (SPOILER ALERT): * First and foremost, the towering performance by Eva Green; she steals every scene she is in and is absolutely mesmerising. Still trying to figure the lack of best performance nominations for her. * The entire Frankenstein monster story arc: the creature has always been depicted in a sympathetic light in all his incarnations, but never has the pathos been more heartfelt than this. This is greatly aided by Rory Kinnears tremendous performance as the surprisingly eloquent and philosophical creature. * The Closer than Sisters episode was one of the TV highlights of 2014. The show is unmissable for this instalment alone if nothing else. * Timothy Dalton and Josh Hartnett provide exceptional supporting performances. * And just as I suspected from episode 3...there was a werewolf in their midst all along. Roll on season 2! #PennyDreadful #SHO_Network
