Finally found a way around the inner tie-rod problem on my 2002 - TopicsExpress

Finally found a way around the inner tie-rod problem on my 2002 S60 - a very big pair of Stilsons! :D Ive now removed the inner and outer tie-rods and replaced with new parts, in the process cleaned up the plastic cap and all the threads, and the main exposed parts of the inner shaft of the rack. Kept everything well lubricated and free from grit during the whole job. It was getting dark towards the end so Ive got some final bits to finish off tomorrow, just reattachment of the Bellows (reused as they are in good nick), to the steering rack and a cowboy tracking adjustment (just enough to get it to town for an alignment). Heres some photos, I apologise that theyre a little blurred as I took them in a hurry as it was getting late. Should be enough to give you an overview though. Note, Ive left the locking nuts loose on purpose as it needs to be that way so I can adjust the alignment. Tomorrow I will have a go at starting on the front brake flexi-hoses. Happy days!
