Finally found time to do some glazing. This is one of the new pieces that I am working on. When the clay was still soft, I carved the outlines of the bees and honeycomb. Today, I used colored underglazes to hand paint the bees and honeycomb and then painted a clear glaze over the bees and honeycomb. After the clear glaze was dry, I carefully painted wax over the bees and honeycomb. Later, I will finish glazing the cup by dipping it in a warm beige colored glaze. The wax will prevent the beige glaze from covering up the bees and honeycomb. More work in progress pictures to come over the next few days.
