Finally had Chinese food tonight. In a small town, Tucumcari, New Mexico. We ordered garlic chicken, but it was actually chicken with vegetables. So it was even better, bc I was craving for fresh vegetables. Kenny Lin and I were literally famished. We wolved down as soon as the waitress brought the food. Patrons at another table were trying to carry conversation with us, but I couldnt talk with my mouth full. Well, God only gave us one mouth. LOL! Besides, my stomach was working, so my brain was taking a break. After my stomach was satisfied, I finally could pay attention to what my new friends had to say. It was a Hispanic family who have lived in Tucumcari, New Mexico for several generations. His parents did not speak English, and did not go to school. But they weathered through Depression..... I was so excited to practice my Spanish with them. Later, the Chinese owner of the restaurant came out. It is the same story---So many immigrants braved to the USA for a better life and now live in this small town. Such an adventure to meet all these people. Loving my new adventure!
