Finally home from this mornings gig at Our Daily Bread Bakery and Café in Blacksburg VA. The place was packed the whole time I played -- and I made a LOT in tips in addition to my generous guarantee. Needless to say, this is one of my favorite gigs! Got lots of nice compliments and also got to see and speak with old friends Susan Helbert and Mil Russell, the latter of whom I hadnt seen for 35 years. SO glad they could get to the gig! The new pickup in my Guild D-55 came through with flying colors, although its gonna take me a little time to get it tweaked just right with the LR Baggs GigPro preamp I got to go with it. Also picked up a biography of the Weavers Lee Hays at the Radford Library Book Sale. Thats going to go well right after reading Woody Guthries House Of Earth recently. I cant think of a better way to start out a Saturday! And now, its NAP time!
