Finally, issue of GTA aufit by CAG has come beforre public. It was there in thr Act. But for best political reeasons known to Bengal Govrrnnment there is already two years delay: Audit is required under the Act. Noone is above the Act. According to clause 55, Chapter V under section 9 of GTA Act, asseented by the Prresident of India, audit of GTA shall be entrrusted to the CAG of the Goveerrnment of India. We, have filed a RTI petition on 25th August 2014 asking for a copy of CAG report for the year 2012-13 and 2013-14 and if audit not done we have also asked for reasons for delay. Audit by CAG should have taken place on a regular basis. Why, CM is using this as a tool to gain political mileage? The department has failed to furnish reply to our RTI query filed even after 98 days. Do Government of West Bengal have any respect for RTI Act 2005?.
