Finally saw The Man of Steel on HBO. Not sure if I liked it or not. I liked some parts but didnt like more. I didnt think General Zod was very menacing. He was pretty weak as far as super villains go. Where was Lex Luther? The twist with Lois Lane was kind of cool but not sure Amy Adams and Henry Cavill had much chemistry. I thought Russell Crowe acted like a robot and didnt think either Kevin Costner or Diane Lane had much time to make a dent. Henry Cavill really is spectacular to look at and his acting isnt bad at all. It just felt less like a blockbuster superhero motion picture and more like a video game. Can so much destruction of so many buildings, and everything in sight, blowing up be too much? I think so. If I was going to rate it on a four star basis I guess I would give it 2 1/2 stars. I think I prefer Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder in the original Superman. I think if you want to go by story, chemistry, acting and all around finished film I would say that Captain America: First Avenger was much better than Man of Steel. Next up is Ben Affleck as Batman? Geesh.
