Finally showmasters have replied to my official complaint but as expected have left all blame on stan lee and his health so nothing happening to make up for lost money and what I still feel is miss advertising and miss selling of their tickets. Reply bellow Dear Ashley Thank you for contacting us, and apologies in the delayed response - we have been aware of your complaint but have experienced a breakdown in communications when it came to responding, either due to technical or personel reasons. I have taken on board your comments and it is regretable that on this occasion we didnt meet your expectations in what we delivered. As Im sure you can appreicate there was a lot of visitors, in excess of a thousand, who attempted to come to LFCC to specificially to meet Stan Lee, like yourself, but who didnt get inside the building such was the demand so the fact you purchased the comic gold did in fact give you the best chance of meeting him over the weekend. I would like to stress that we sell our tickets for the event, and not for any particular guest - the Comic Gold pass was designed to allow those who wanted to see Stan Lee the best chance but it was still for LFCC, so we are unable to refund due to the fact the show was open all three days, and Stan Lee was in attendance for all three days and we did make it possible for you to see Stan Lee, so on that basis we can not refund on something you have received which is access to the event for three days with the opportunity to see Stan Lee. Regarding your individual points - your comments/feedback on the goody bags has been noted, I can assure you these were not an afterthought, but we will look to make improvements in how items are source going forward. The Comic Awards were an exclusive event to LFCC, and we did have comic guests in attendance, plus Stan Lee - unfortunately he did only make a brief appearance due to tiredness. The nominations were all done by public vote so we had no influence over who was nominated or who won - the very nature of awards shows that are done by public vote is to not rig them so we only have the winners in the building, we felt it was in better spirit to keep all aspects of the awards as voted for by the public. A lot of the public vote was for overseas comic artists, which was unfortunate but where possible we did attempt to have artists that were in the UK attend to collect. We are reviewing the structure of the awards as far as the presentation goes, after feedback for the first year we have held them. Im confused that you felt we opened up an extra day - we were always scheduled to open on the friday and the 2 hour extra signing session that we held before the show opened was to try and ease the pressure for our visitors who did just want a signature and nothing else, as comic golds were going to get priority access to signatures throughout the weekend we felt it was only fair that this early session be for those who didnt have that priority during the weekend to get the best chance of getting Stans autograph if they were able to be at the venue that early, and we were grateful to Mr Lee for suggesting he come in earlier once he knew demand would be high. Im sure you can appreciate, even with all the planning in the world, the tendancy at these events is that sometimes you do have to adjust and amend things on the day with little notice - we found this to be the case more so than usual at LFCC, especially as Mr Stan Lee was not feeling 100% and we were lucky he did as much as he did for us (Im sure you heard he cancelled subsequent appearances the weekends after LFCC due to illness). Prior to the event, and when we were planning, we were assured Mr Lees health was good and what he was able to do and happy to do, when it came to the weekend, due to him not feeling 100% we had to drastically change things for the comfort of our guest - we were accused of over working Mr Lee when the truth is we did everyhing in our power to ensure he was well rested and not exhausted, and this did unfortunately mean we had to cut back on some of his commitments and compromises had to be made. It is unfortunate that this meant your expectations were not met, and in a perfect world we would have loved to have delivered and more - but lessons have certainly be learned, we have taken a lot on board and changes in how we deal with our big guests, plus our new found knowledge for dealing with things not going to anywhere near to plan, have already led to major changes for our next LFCC. We do appreciate you taking the time to contact us and offer your feedback, and I apologise again that your letter seemed to drop through a hole and Im only responding now, we will be looking to improve upon this in the next few months with changes that are already set to go into motion. Suffice to say we do realise LFCC 2014 was not perfect, there was a lot of decisions that we had to make on the day and only in hindsight were we able to access if they were right or wrong, but one thing is certain and that is we have learnt and we will grow stronger for the experience, and I hope the above has gone some way to assure you that your feedback has been important to us, and lessons have been learned.
