Finally submitted our new film Zona Intervenida to the Sundance - TopicsExpress

Finally submitted our new film Zona Intervenida to the Sundance Film Festival, just in time for their deadline today. The feature-length performance-documentary, co-directed with Bonifaz Canelo Fino and co-produced with Carlos Lucas, has been in the making for nearly 2 years in Guatemala. Well need to begin the more intensive HD post-production work in coming months... but its so satisfying to get this first fine-cut done this week. Thanks to everyone who has been a part of this amazing project! Synopsis: The film is an artistic exploration of the historic memory of Genocide in Guatemala, through dance, performances, poetry and interviews conducted on the site of a former train station in Quetzaltenango which was converted to a military base for decades during the worst atrocities of the war in Guatemala. The film shows how a collective of young artists seek to transform the dark and violent history of the space through movement, music and spoken word, while engaging public imagination and bringing light to its silenced past.
