Finally taking a moment to reflect on the last few days of being at the IDRS convention. It recently occurred to me that it has been 10 years that I attended my first convention. I walked into that being a cocky but motivated young man with the intention of interacting with my peers of other bassoonists, and with the intent to grow and home my craft. The last few days its strange walking into this conference, being a lot more humble but very honored and flattered by how many people of all ages and experiences stop me to talk with me and say how much they appreciate the enthusiasm, honesty, and how much they appreciate what I do. I moreso than anything appreciate the great friendships, and influential people that have helped me along the way. I cannot thank all of you enough for all of the support and kindness that youve shown both now, and as I have traveled down this career path. I sincerely value all of you. Its all of you that make me realize that the effort and hard work have made it all worthwhile!!
