Finally the much awaited result attained in one of the second division clashes against home team Naseeb FC on the 08-Oct-2014. The team started off on a very smooth note by dominating the game in the first 15 minutes when Melroy Pinto with his pace got past the defense of Naseeb FC just managing to place the ball inches away from the goal post. Melroy Pinto repeated the act again of going past the defense but this time even going past the Goal keeper and clinically pushing the ball into the goal GKW 1 - Naseeb FC 0. GKW consistently managed to keep possession and dominate proceeding with the defense standing tall with Jordan Cavalho,Ankit Vichare, Vijesh Nair & Mitesh Sharma who defended well throughout the match. Second half began almost the way the first half ended, complete domination by the Rangers frustrating Naseeb FC who deployed the aggressive strategy to break down GKW which failed as Naseeb still didnt have the pace to match Melroy Pinto who easily ran past their defense time and again. Neither could Naseeb FC handle the skills of Binoy Pinto and the precision passing of Rohan Kulkarni & Devang Salkar and Leon Fernandes. To strengthen the defense and add spark to the teams dynamic GKW induced a double substitution which immediately paid off with Aditya Bandekar scoring the second goal of the match and creating opportunities and an individual goal by Binoy Pinto wherein he managed to trick the stopper trice before landing the ball into the next and with a sublime pass by Mitesh, Melroy Pinto added another goal to his tally leaving the scoreline GKW 4 - 0 Naseeb FC..... Last but not the least huge support from our bench increased the morale of the team a special thanks to one and all.... Thanks Aviraj you have stepped into the goal keeping role very well....
