Finally the reality of these refugees and most Mexican, Central American, and Haitian Refugees in the Post NAFTA era, but especially in the past 10 year, has been recognized. The reasons they emigrate or flee from their Countries of Origin are Political and Social. They are people living in fear seeking safety. Economics can always be made an excuse. But the reality is most of these people dont and cant have economic stability or opportunities, or even a basic way to earn a subsistence livelihood is because their political systems are corrupt, or broken to the point where they provide nothing but anarchy, or simply exist as shells for drug king pins or murderous psychopaths who own the country. Our reason for being as a Continental Nation and Political Philosophy is that we believe that All Governments Should Exist Only By The Consent of the Governed and Primarily for the Purpose of Protecting the Inalienable Rights of Its People. By this Standard and our formative Policies and Doctrines we have a moral, philosophical, and political Obligation by the precepts behind Manifest Destiny and the Monroe Doctrine, never mind the International law the article touches upon, to accept these Individuals on a Political Asylum Basis.
