Finally tracked down the type of owl living in our back yard. Barred Owls are supposedly rare in Central Texas. The who cooks for you call is very distinctive. The kids and I like to say who poops on you. It hoots almost every night. Woke me up last night at 3:20 am. Sounds like it is right outside the window of 1 of the upstairs bedroosm. Theyre about 20 tall, long-lived, very territorial, and known to attack humans heads. I always wanted a trained attack bird that I can summon with my powerful ca-caw, ca-caw sound. I guess it is living on the many wild rabbits in our back yard. t.co/rbZzmKHHra
