Finally, you have charged me of playing petty politics. Please clarify because I have not 1. Intimidated or harassed anyone 2. Slandered anyone 3. Gossiped or 4. Fabricated facts You yourself states Ive written an excellent critique and then contradict yourself by accusing me of playing petty politics. I dont think expressing my opinion is un-gentlemanly or petty just because it does not coincide with yours. However, I do think you are playing shadow politics when you do not say what is in your mind. You say you will reveal it after the event, but what good will that do. If you have something to say, then you must say now so I may in turn clarify, defend or agree. I believe it is when you deny the other party (in this case me) a sporting chance you say it is not a gentlemans game! Finally, I have to tell you that you and I are entitled to our own opinions. However, when it comes to decisive matters like our country, where the outcome directly affects our lives and permanently impacts our children and their future, our opinion carry the huge weight of responsibility. You are free to vote for CC just because UNP is also holding his veil. If you think that CC can bring a better Sri Lanka even for one minute, where theres no corruption (something they have promised to achieve in 100 days!), then yes, you must vote for the CC. But then you must also take responsibility if, 1. UNP is just used for the ride and thereafter cast aside and appoints Chandrika as the prime minister. Do you honestly think when theres a majority of SLFP in the parliament, that theyll choose RW over Chandrika as the PM? If Chandrika comes forward pushing RW back, that would destroy UNP totally. As it is UNP is been swallowed by fielding candidates from other camps for two consecutive elections. 2. If the country is fragmented and if Patali champika pre-defection warnings prove right, well not only have separatism wars from just Tamil extremists, but also from Muslim extremists. 3. Due to in-fighting from this incompatible elements, who have just got together to get rid of a leader who had refused to bow his head to wicked pressures, if our country goes back to the times of Chandrika when - the economy nosedived to a negative growth - war break out - country is divided or PTOM-like ideas becomes a reality Or like me, you choose to vote for MR and - be part of this peaceful Sri Lanka - not be a pawn to these silent forces that our playing pucks with our internal politics - enjoy the many benefits by the current and proposed development projects - leave an intact country for our children to live The choice is yours and you must live with the consequences of your choice. I dont know whether Sri Lanka will become the pinnacle of Asian glory, but I have the peace of mind that I had not gambled with my country nor betrayed my nation nor insulted my children by placing their future in the hands of the likes like Chandrika, RW and extremists like TNA and SLMC! Like I said above Im a strong UNPier, but I only agree with Sri Lankas point of view and not any political party view. I only support who are loyal to the country, and who work for the country. Im a very open man and you with anyone else you desire can meet me at any time for a frank exchange of views. In fact, if you can meet me before the 8th itll be great for if you hear the things I know you wont be surprised by my decision to support MR.
