Finance are hard to understand, but play a KEY importance in our lives. Politicians know this. When Darling asked Salmond about plan B, it was a low blow tactic to scare the viewers into thinking their entire currency and wealth could be at stake on levels most people couldnt even begin to understand, including myself. Answering that question was a hard one, with 6 weeks to go, who would want to be thinking Scotland going with the Euro, or a new Scottish currency, because most dont understand the complexities of this are scared of their financial future. The resources that Scotland has is worth Trillions in £ Sterling, that wont change no matter what currency we use. Scotland want to keep the pound, as this is the best as it maintains a currency with its largest trading partner... the UK. Heres a comment from a friend Id like to add to this Status: Can we put all this nonsense about the UK sharing the £ with an independent Scotland to bed. If the UK refuses to go into a currency union with Scotland it would retain a 100% share of the Bank of England---- If it did that then unfortunately for the UK would retain 100% of its liabilities too. The UK has already accepted liability for this debt during the campaign to sooth the money markets and guaranteed payment of the total UK debt. Scotland upon independence as gesture of goodwill and through negotiations (it has no legal obligation to do so) would take its share---- obviously on the condition that we had a formal currency agreement. Can anyone seriously really imagine UK politician standing in the 2015 general election on a platform of We are not having a currency union with Scotland and by the way that will cost us 5 BILLION per year in extra debt interest . Vote for me. I dont think so !!!!!!! Not a cats chance in hell----- so all this bluff and bluster from Osborne and Co needs to be highlighted to the Scottish people before the big day. It is just another example of Project Fear backed up by the London media especially the press. It needs to repudiated at every opportunity by those of us who believe in a fairer and more just independent Scotland. Spread the Word----------------YES-----------------------------
