Finding Cures For over 95 years, the American Lung Association has been funding quality lung research with the intent to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. Today, the American Lung Association Research Program is comprised of 3 distinct programs – the Awards and Grants Program; the Asthma Clinical Research Centers Network (ACRC) and the Epidemiology and Statistics Program. In addition to supporting our own research program, the American Lung Association aggressively advocates to increase Americas investment into life saving research. We are pushing to increase funding at the National Institutes of Health to help find cures for lung cancer, COPD, asthma and all lung diseases. Now, more than ever, we find ourselves on the precipice of limitless medical discoveries – each one leading us closer to a day when we will be able to reverse, treat, prevent and ultimately find cures for all suffering from lung disease.
