Finding Your Place Part – 7 How is grace multiplied? 2Peter 1:2 --Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord. How is faith multiplied? Col 3:17 -- And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Faith is multiplied through thanksgiving. When you speak a scripture or a prayer, remember you are planting a seed. If you are saying a scripture on healing, you are planting a seed called” healing seed”. If you are saying a scripture for your protection, you are planting a seed called “protection seed”. Whenever you are praying, you are sowing a seed. And we all know that every seed needs “watering”. Have you seen a garden? In the garden there are small plants. If you don’t water the plants they will eventually die. Here’s how you “water” seeds that you plant in the spiritual garden. “God, I thank you that whatever I have asked in prayer, you have answered my prayer”. Watering a seed happens when you start thanking God. Mark 11:24 -- Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. When I receive something what is my immediate reaction? I say “thank you”. So according to Mark 11: 24, if I believe that I have received what I want from God, then my prayer should be as follows: Lord, I thank you that you have given me ---------(my healing/my protection). A thanksgiving prayer like this will water the seed that you planted in your prayer. For example if you are sick and you are asked to meditate on the scripture Galatians 3: 13 – Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law (sickness). As you meditate on the scripture you understand that Jesus was crucified so that you may be set free from all your sickness and pain. You now understand that Jesus died for your sake. Since Jesus died on the cross so that I may be set free from all my sickness and pain, my response to Jesus should be” THANK YOU JESUS that I am healed from my sickness”. Now you are watering the “healing seed”. If you continue watering the seed without murmuring and grumbling, in due course of time you will receive your harvest – your healing. Are you a person who only sows a seed and does not water? If you have been operating in this manner can you expect a harvest? –“NO”, because the seed you have planted cannot grow without being watered. Jesus gave Thanks to God His Father before He multiplied the five loaves and two fishes (Mathew 14: 19). Similarly before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He lifted up His eyes and said “Father I thank You that You have heard Me” (John11:41). Thanksgiving not only waters the seed, but helps that seed to grow in your heart!
