Finding and developing a good script for faith-based movies today is difficult enough, but in most cases, Catholic and Christian filmmakers have two more monumental challenges: financing and distribution. If the first challenge is met and the film gets completed, major film distributors are not always interested in picking up a faith-based film or marketing it to a wide audience, unless a major studio is involved. Hollywood is not faith-friendly, and when they do faith, they do not do it well, said former U.S. senator and presidential candidate Rick Santorum, who is now chairman and CEO of EchoLight Studios (EchoLight), an inspirational film company headquartered in Dallas.
