Finding that so many people are so casual about everything these days. They had fun, theyre kind of into gardening, theyre friends with someone, their time in big sur was really nice, theyre talking to someone. What about the fire that friend stirs in your lungs, or the way those sweeping green cliffs touch the type of blue so surreal your eyes can barely drink the color, or the way your garden makes you create and nurture and build or how those little plants make you believe in more things than you once thought possible? What about the way you could melt into a persons voice because they feel like home and yet another dimension all at once? Why do you like to paint? Because its how you communicate the images that inhabit your heart. Why do you like to drive the long way? Because the car gives you a sense of freedom as though youre flying, and you somehow feel adrenalized by each exit whirling by. You taught your first class? Thats beautiful because you overcame a doubt. You introduced your child to a little puppy today? If thats not magic then I dont know what is. Stop downplaying your enthusiasm and excitement. Enthusiasm propels the world. Stop worrying about other people possibly thinking youre strange for being passionate. They secretly adore and envy it but lack the courage to embody it themselves. If you love something, really love it. If that trip or person or experience opened up worlds that didnt exist in your life before, write about it. Or tell someone. it. Tell it the way it is. The way it feels. It is beautiful to feel and it is more than ok to exist intensely because living itself is beautiful and intense and theres no need to pretend otherwise. Remember wonder. Its not reserved for other places or times. Wonder lives right here in the heart and thick of it all, always in the now. And it is anything but casual.
