Fine, another one, but thats it... 1. Chewing gum is the most disgusting thing on the planet to me. Id rather have someone smoking around me. I have a hard time being in close proximity to someone while theyre chewing gum, especially if I can smell it. I cant eat a meal around someone while theyre chewing gum. I cant even watch a TV commercial for gum while Im eating. I refused a teeth cleaning at the dentist one time because the only flavor of tooth paste they had was bubble gum, Id have puked all over him. If youre chewing it, it should stay in your mouth, playing with is enough to make me gag. I have actually developed a bit of a sixth sense while walking and am able to avoid stepping in gum thrown on the ground by the inconsiderate gum chewers who think its ok to not throw their disgusting wads of grossness into a garbage can. Thank you Heidi, I blame you for this one. 2. I joined the Marines mostly because of my dad, and my moms second husband, Mike, both Marines. Dad was in supply in an self propelled artillery unit, Mike was an aircraft mechanic. Id always had a like for the military and enjoyed military movies and TV shows. When I was in fifth or sixth grade Top Gun, the best recruiting tool the Navy never had, came out and piqued my interest in military aircraft. In sixth grade, over Christmas Break, I had to prepare an oral report on one of many topics, aviation being one of them. Mike, having been an aircraft mech during Viet Nam lent me his knowledge and helped me with the report giving more me of an interest in the military and its aircraft. Around this same time, my dad came back into our lives and was still active with the Marines in various ways and got me even more interested in the military. Between 7th and 8th and 8th and 9th grades, I attended a military style summer camp in Texas and my ninth grade year of high school was at New Mexico Military Institute. Through all these experiences I decided that joining the Marines would definitely be one of the best things I could do in my life and when I was old enough, I joined and did four years and would have liked to have reenlisted, but then Clinton. The other reason I joined? A 3 3/4 tall action figure by the name of G.I.*JOE. My favorite toy as a kid. 3. When I was in first grade, we did a play of Charlottes Web. The teachers used the lines and music from the cartoon version of the movie from the late 70s. The class usually did Wizard of Oz, and we were the first ond only class to do something different. I played the part of Wilbur the pig, the lead part. There were four Wilburs, one was a stuffed animal when he was a baby, a kid named David Schwartz who was smaller than me played a young Wilbur, then there was me and finally Brian Herarea, a kid bigger than me played an older Wilbur, but I played Wilbur for the majority of the play. I can still recite the lines and sing the songs when I see the movie. That was thirty-four years ago. I can remember that, but I cant remember what song just played on the radio.
