Finish off Canada Week here at BZ Utopia with two of our very own Boogiezone fam, Jaybee Bagunu and Kenny Aquino! Class starts at 9PM and its only $10! Meet Jaybee! Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Jaybee Bagunu started training at the age of 8 with Fresh Groove Productions. She was always active in sports, but eventually decided to dance full time in 2009. From there, she joined The Creative Outlet (formerly known as DREAM Dance Studio) and was trained by Jenn Galo. Since she was 17-years-old, she has been travelling back and forth from Canada to LA to learn from industry and community choreographers, as well as perform in various showcases throughout North America. Jaybee was a top finalist in the soloist competitions, Claim 1 & 2, and won a Boogiezone Xchange scholarship for Wave 5. After the opportunity of being personally mentored by Elm Pizarro, she was offered to become an honorary member of Boogiezones Breed OCLA. She is also currently assistant choreographer for artist, Kayla Brianna (Interscope Records). Jaybee would like to thank Fresh Groove, DREAM, Boogiezone, Debbie Reynolds, Millennium, ML, and everyone who has been a part of her journey. Meet Kenny! Kenny Aquino began his first dance experience with choreographer, Gil Duldulao, in 2010. He began training in the city of Vancouver, Canada in early 2011 with local home studio, The Creative Outlet (formerly known as DREAM Dance Studio). Kenny takes his training very seriously in various styles such as house, krump, jazz, ballet, and street jazz, but has originally been foundationally trained in hip hop choreography. Under the management of The Creative Outlet, Kenny has been personally mentored and trained by instructors Jenn Galo, and Andrew Galang. Since late 2011, Kenny has been training back and forth in local studios in North Hollywood and Torrance, California. After struggling with working on the streets in the suburbs of Vancouver and working as a chef at Canada’s top restaurant, Hawksworth, Kenny decided that he would put those aside and take dance on as his career. Gaining acceptance into groups such as TCO Senior Company, ROC Embassy, and BZX Waves 6 and 7, Kenny has taken his training to a new level by putting himself into auditions, private physical and mindset training sessions with top choreographers and dancers. In 2014, Kenny booked his first job with one of the industry’s top directors, Kenny Ortega. Kenny’s ultimate dream goal is to go on world tours with numerous artists. He looks up to his dance inspirations: Misha Gabriel, Devin Jamieson, and Marty Kudelka. Kenny plans to continuously train in California and travel internationally to book work and build his resume. In his later years, he plans to move to California and teach locally while sharing his knowledge with students. Kenny strongly believes that always being a student is key, and to pursue your passions to the fullest. https://youtube/watch?v=-s9d-LKWl_E #bzcommunityclass
