Finished Emancipation Day by Wayne Grady. It was set in Newfoundland and Ontario. Its the story of a young Newfoundland girl who marries a Sailor during WWII. The sailor appears to be white but both of his parents are at least part black. Lots of problems ensue when he refuses to acknowledge his mixed racial background. Interesting read. Im almost finished of Red Joan by Jennie Rooney. I picked this one because of the title. Its the story of an elderly woman in England who is being investigated for her involvement with the Communist Party during her student days at Oxford. Im really enjoying it so far.
