Finished complaint letter to CEO TESCO on GMO Foods and Petition..... Hello Dave My name is Raj, I have been a Chef for many years specialising in Childrens Nutrition and have worked with some respected Chefs. I am of Sikh origin with my homeland in Punjab, India. We have a generational home with land which we have farmed since ancient times. We have seen the terrible injustices and Suicides, 391,000 just last year of farmers who cannot grow of feed their families by drinking Monsantos Round Up in protest. We hear news of tragedies each year we visit our Village. Monsanto is systematically using devious techniques by selling the farmers Patented GM Seeds which do not yield the increased crop promised by Monsanto and the land was seized by Monsanto. I have been a customer with Tesco for about a year since my disability. I was an Aldi customer before and buy at Local Farmers Markets in Cardiff travelling on my bicycle to buy my food until I became immobile. I was delivered my latest Tesco food delivery Tuesday 9 December 2014. Order Number 152265382. customer Number 84313692 Ninety per cent of the food was fresh as I cook every meal. I also ordered 2 Packs OF Tesco WHOLEFOODS Cranberries 100 grams, Barcode 10063125 Packed in UK for Tesco and your Cheshunt HQ. When I received them, I thought OK. they are dried but will suffice. On Wednesday 10th December night 9pm ish I decided to eat one pack of the dried Cranberries, I opened the packet and had tried a few. Then, as always I make sure I read the ingredients which I always like to be informed. TO MY HORROR, the First ingredient was Pineapple Juice (66%), then came Cranberries (33%) and Sunflower Oil (1%). I was Speechless. So with my knowledge of GM, I wanted to know where the product originated. To MY HORROR again it was Produce of USA. The first image came into my mind was GMO. I made a call immediately to discuss this on your Grocery 0800 Number and I spoke to Lauren, who had no idea of what a GMO is, I asked if she could find me a supplier name in the USA, so I can look into my GMO resources and contacts to discover if these were GM Cranberries. Lauren explained that she will return my call in 15 minutes, which Lauren did without no information to could give me and she even asked her Supervisors who also did not know (or were not willing to share the information), this latter explanation confirmed my second suspicion. I asked Lauren to get someone who is knowledgeable to contact me the following day (Friday 11th December), I received a phone call Friday from Ellie and I do not know which department she was from. A professional should have explained who they are and what their role is, Ellie was unhelpful with useless information and just kept repeating put it in writing to the Tesco Cheshunt HQ Office, reading the address when in fact I was looking at the product address on the packet which I kept repeating this to Ellie. This was absolute unprofessional and her attitude insulted my intelligence, I expect an apology from her self. On Monday Morning 15th December, I received another phone call from The Western Road Tesco Store from Jemma Christie, who was the Fresh Store Picker asking me what was wrong with the Fresh Cranberries I was delivered. I explained her mistake and obviously, there was some miscommunication. I was stunned yet again on your communication problems. So, later on Monday I called your 0800 Grocery number again and spoke to Lucas and I was very frustrated at the response of your staff and the Supplier information they were deliberately holding back. All I wanted now was this tainted food to be collected and my account to be deleted. Lucas was very good, he made a call to Western Avenue Tesco store Cardiff and said the manager will return my call. Tuesday 16th December, I was called by Susan and she reiterated that the Manager Kim Burke will call to arrange collection, but Natalie (another Manager) called and as I am awaiting surgery I was stocking up on simple tinned Soups, beans. etc, and sometimes I donate any surplus to the Cardiff Food Bank. After discovering the GM products you have been selling. I refuse to donate any item because most of the food will be eaten by children and I do not want to pollute their Mothers, Fathers and their Childrens Genome. This is what I told Natalie and I did not want the returned products to go back into the food chain or a food bank. Yes, families are going hungry, but I do not want to poison them. i do not want that on my Conscious!. I offered to witness the collection and destruction into the large bin we have outside our Apartment Block and Natalie agreed and I was given a partial refund as some of the food, especially the Spinach, Kale and Bananas had been consumed before I discovered the GM deceit. Natalie was great and gave me your email and mentioned you are open to GM Issues and are active in communicating with customers. I was asked by your helpline to write to Cheshunt HQ for request the Cranberries Supplier to see if they are GMO, so I am asking you for the supplier details of the Cranberries to compare my GMO company resources I have. I have two ANTI GMO Facebook Groups and recently I have discovered that Tesco and the Rest of the Major supermarkets, except Aldi and Lidl have been selling 52 GM which have been approved by the E.U. The groups know of this incident and interested in this and are expecting a reply from you. We have 1486 Signatures on The Tesco GMO Petition and the other Supermarkets and growing each day. Have you heard of TTIP? TTIP The negotiations aim at removing trade barriers (tariffs, unnecessary regulations, restrictions on investment etc.) If this is signed by the European Union later this year, you will be selling Injected Growth Hormone and Antibiotic Infected Meat, which has been scientifically proven to mutate Gut Flora and cause other major diseases including Paediatric Cancer and Autism. Would you be willing to feed this meat to your children and Grand Children? I would like a response to this question. Also, would you be willing to pay your staff sick leave because of the GM Food being eaten by them bought from your company making them ill, some with long term diseases. I would like a response to this question. I also have documents and film footage to show if you are interested in what adverse physical reactions and diseases happening to farmers worldwide and workers through the production and packaging of affected GM crops and GM Feed given to animals which have killed them within 24 hours. I have so many more questions I would like to ask you, but I leave you with this. I am also waiting for the European Commission (TTIP) to return my questions which I sent before Christmas, they have a 3 week response time. I look forward to your reply.
