Finished reading Laura Ingalls Wilders West From Home. This is a book of letters Laura wrote to Almanzo in the fall of 1915 as she was visiting daughter Rose in San Francisco and Almanzo stayed back on the farm in Mansfield, MO. Her descriptions make you feel as though you are right there with her. Id love to travel to S.F., by train, as she did, or otherwise; never been there. She went from Springfield to Kansas City to Denver to Salt Lake to somewhere in Nevada to Sand Francisco, but supposedly came home a different route. This was before the Golden Gate Bridge was built, but she speaks of the Golden Gate. She was in S.F. at the time the Panama Pacific International Exhibition (PPIE) was going on (Worlds Fair) so she describes things she saw there.
