Finished the first novella out of many in new Crimes and Punishments yesterday. They fulfilled all expectations! Another top notch Frogwares adventure game about Sherlock Holmes. Not some jimbo-jumbo like the modern shitty Holmes adaptations (puhleeese, the shit called Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr. has nothing, and I mean it, nothing to do with the A.C.Doyles Holmes!). This is another game A.C.Doyle would be proud of!. Holmes is Holmes again, grumpy genius with little regard for women, psychotic episodes when hes bored (in fact the game starts with Watson hiding in the room while Holmes is shooting the vases around the room, blindfolded), using cocaine when he has nothing productive to do - like in the books! Watson is Watson. Both models based on Jeremy Bretts and Edward Hardwickes brilliant acting in 80s Sherlock Holmes TV series. Interaction between characters, jokes etc, brilliant. Sherlocks senses and imagination now are additional options changing the view of the scene! But be warned, deduction is done by the player and theres no more that a 1 savegame which is used automatically, so you can point out the wrong suspect, condemning some innocent person to the gallows...
