Finished writing up my Nora cosplay how-to, if you need more in depth knowledge shoot me a message! Shoes - I got a pair for $15 and painted them white with fabric paint, bought new laces and added the pink trim. Skirt - For Nora’s skirt I decided on a circle skirt as I preferred that fit on my body as well as I had made them before. Circle skirts are the easiest thing to make and for what I needed for this cosplay. I used a jersey knit fabric that I found online in a watermelon colour as I like how stretch fall on the body, the petticoat is made of a polycotton and was attached to the pink later in the waistband. Here is the tutorial that I used - birdeemag/diy-make-your-own-circle-skirt/ Shirt - So I draped this all on my own though a completely rookie way. Because I was using stretch fabric for the entire top I simply wrapped my mannequin in glad-wrap and in duct tap and then drew my lines on for my seams with adding approx 1cm seam allowance. Once I got my fit done I finalized the entire fit. I decided to change the white part of the shirt - I made it double thickness to get the heart to look better. Armour - Done very similar to the Shirt though its made with craft foam in order to get the shapes. The tutorial I used was this one - entropyhouse/penwiper/costumes/helmsdeep.html These are then attached to the body via snaps. Magnhild - Was the hardest part of this entire cosplay - made from a mop, with a cardboard out lay, covered in foam (EVA foam and craft foam). Honestly this was hard, this took 2 days of complete and next time that I do it (which is likely) I will definitely make it a little bit more refined. The second version replaced the mop with a piece of wood where there are screws to keep it in place when its assembled after traveling I will likely remake Nora sometime in the next few years - I really want to re do Magnhild!
