Finishing a movie that has begun filming poses quite a challenge - TopicsExpress

Finishing a movie that has begun filming poses quite a challenge for directors when one of the main actors dies in real life. While it has been done in the past with some success, the quality of the end product can vary. Looking back at some of the films where this occurred, you can see that sometimes the entire movie will take a different direction all together due to the absence of the main character. Other times, directors can get someone to stand in and finish the role, and the movie can go on to be a success. Despite probably not needing another film to be a successful franchise, many fans are wondering “Will there be a Fast and Furious 7?“ Will There Be A Fast And Furious 7? Actors Brandon Lee, Chris Farley, Heath Ledger, and John Candy are some of the famous faces that may come to mind when thinking of people who died before finishing their movie. Heath Ledger died not only while filming another movie, but before the release of his most applauded role as Joker in the Dark Knight series. In some cases when an actor dies, the movie either stops filming, they get a replacement actor and re-shoot the scenes, they write the character out of the script, or they digitally place the character in the movie. Some of these tricks might work for one-off movies, but this becomes increasingly difficult when a movie franchise like Fast and Furious is filming its 7th installment, and the deceased actor is the main star. Paul Walker, Fast and Furious’s main actor, died in a tragic car accident on November 30, 2013. The car accident was not related to the filming of the movie, but Paul Walker was probably best known for his role behind the wheel in the Fast and Furious movies. The original movie launched a lifestyle of modifying cars, and catapulted many of it’s actors into stardom. Since the ‘Fast and Furious 7‘ recently began filming its scenes, fans will wonder not only IF the movie ever gets finished, but if it will be released. Will the movie be good enough if his character is taken out of the film? In a previous movie, Michelle Rodriguez’s character was written off as being dead, only to later return to the film franchise in another film. That may have been tricky to pull off, but at least the actress was alive and well in real life to reprise her own role. Despite having already filmed 6 movies in the Fast and Furious franchise, Universal studios was pumping a lot of attention into more sequels for the film. Not only was the production of ‘Fast and Furious 7‘ started before the release of ‘Fast and Furious 6′, but there was already talks about starting the script on a ‘Fast and Furious 8′. There are some reports that Walker’s co-stars want to finish the film and do it as a tribute to him. This may be a good sign for fans who wish to see his final work, yet who might be skeptical about how his role will be removed from the series. If the movie continues as originally planned, you can expect to see it in theaters on 7/11/2014. You can view the trailer below: Read more at americanlivewire/will-fast-furious-7/
