Fire Management update.... nothing as far as new fires today. Precipitation over the last few days was a welcome relief.... yet will not dent the shortfall for the year. By midweek we will see a return of warmer temps.... with Piumsha this weekend we will have a good test of having high probability of human ignitions in our community. Keep an eye on the winds... fire travels faster in the grass with winds behind it.... Today had a productive meeting with our public safety, Tribal management and DNR counterparts.... JakeNjulie Suppah ST, JP Patt COO, Orvie Shelia Danzuka TC Member, Stan Sunega GM Public Safety, Carmen Smith, Stan Webb, Vernon Wolf Forest Manager, Bobby Brunoe GM DNR, with our staff... Trey Leonard FMO, Kia Donahue AFMO Fuels, Luther Clements AFMO Operations, Tony Holliday Prevention Officer, Albert Charlie Prevention Tech and myself AFMO Logitstics.... Discussed prevention - juvenile fire setter program, fire permitting, and initial attack fir scene security, went over fire management program, discussed past fire history and the outlook for 2013, (Severe season outlook of perhaps historic proportions) and then went into a cooperative and problem solving mode.... ready for 2013.... Hot Shots should be up by the latest Wednesday, 2 engines on the boards as well as our camp crews... the needs are however single resource fire qualified folks... we may end up putting individuals on the boards.... Colorado, the Southwest and Cali are experiencing fires with most other areas having prime conditions.... The news will be buzzing about the severity of this years fire season soon... we hope not to get hit too hard..... we are ready!
