Fire chief explores the roots of Redlands Fire Department in program POSTED: 01/19/15 Redlands Fire Chief Jeff Frazier will present a program on the history of the Redlands Fire Department when the Redlands Area Historical Society meets at 7 p.m. Monday in the Assembly Room of the A.K. Smiley Public Library, 125 W. Vine St., Redlands. Frazier joined the Redlands Department in 2008, bringing 36 years of fire service experience. He began his career as a volunteer firefighter for Twentynine Palms Fire Department. He completed 28 years with the San Diego Fire Department, holding assignments in operations, human resources, training, emergency management, communications and logistics. He received four exceptional service citations during that time. Elected by his fellow fire chiefs, Frazier is president of the Citrus Belt Fire Chiefs Association, chairman of the CONFIRE Administrative Chiefs Committee and coordinator of San Bernardino County Operational Area Zone II. As an emergency responder and manager, Frazier has responded to major wildfires across the Western United States, the Oklahoma City bombing, multiple hurricanes, the World Trade Center attack, Haiti earthquake and other Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) events. Frazier is also active in the community. He is a member of the board of directors for Redlands Rotary, Inland Empire Council of Boy Scouts of America, University of Redlands Town and Gown and the Fire and Burn Foundation.
