Fire gutted a shop at Pig Farm in Accra Thursday night but due to the swift intervention of personnel of the Ghana Fir Service the fire was brought under control preventing what could have been recorded as a fire disaster in the metropolis. Firemen reached the scene within minutes and managed to extinguish it without any difficulty. This has not been the case with other fire outbreaks in recent times. According to eyewitness they saw smoke billowing out of one of the shops in a one-storey building housing 14 shops in total. Reports say all items in the affected shop got burnt , known as Delores boutique and doubles as a cosmetics shop. There was no one in the building at the time the fire started since businesses had closed. Police personnel were also at the scene to control the crowd.
