Firemen...running into danger, saving lives, helping people, giving freely of their time, participating in charitable events and teaching kids about fire safety. Missing Christmas mornings, weddings, school functions, kids games, parties, holidays, award ceremonies and important dr appts. Being gone evenings, weekends, nights and always working when the storm hits or something goes bad. The hardest part...a wife on the other end hearing the tones (knowing exactly whats going down), attending that special function alone and wishing he was there to be part of that moment. Lifting his spirits the next day after a REALLY bad night on a scene, working around that crazy schedule and hoping hes off this weekend, or worst of all....getting that dreaded phone call at 2:30 in the morning that hes been injured in a fire. Yep, thats my life and I wouldnt trade it for anything in the world! ❤️
