Firestorm Armada Escalation Rules draft 2 Comment any suggestions or changes required. I am brain storming rules for having to quit the game due to time so players DO NOT exploit an early advantage. This will be a 6 round event starting at 500 point fleets and increasing a 100 points each round. When signing up for the league all players must choose a Faction and must use that faction throughout the entire league. Each round will take place over two weeks where both players coordinate and set up a time to play and then report the results of the round before the beginning of the next round. There is no requirement to have your fleet painted for this event. All players need to bring a written out fleet list with all hardpoints/upgrades to the meeting. Both players will have to show their opponent their fleet list so the point values can be confirmed. If you are over the set point value you must remove Hardpoints/upgrades or ships from the squadron. You CANNOT remove some ships to add others or remove one hardpoint/upgrade to add another. So make sure your math is correct before you come play. If someone does not arrive with a fleet built then their opponent will not show their list until both fleets are built. For this first Escalation League the entry fee will be $5 and all of that will go toward prize support. There will be a first place prize and fellowship prize. More prizes will be added if enough people join. Terrain for all rounds will be terrain set up by randomized terrain set up if they are not set as part of the rules/scenarios. Both players will roll for 3 random pieces of terrain and this will be the “terran” pool. The players will then roll 2D6 adding fleet tactics bonus the winner selected who will place the first terrain. Then the players will alternate placing the pieces of terrain. The player who placed Terrain second will get first selection of which board side to deploy on. Terran cannot be placed in the deployment zones, and there must be three clear paths where two large ships can pass side by side in them. Round 1 will be 500 points and will be a Border Clash. Battle Log Max/Min is 10/-10 Round 2 will be 600 points and will be an Escalating Engagement. Battle Log Max/Min is 10/-10 Round 3 will be 700 points and will be a Modified Recover Resources. Battle Log Max/Min is 10/-10 Round 4 will be 800 points and will be a Modified Hold the Waypoints. Battle Log Max/Min is 10/-10 Round 5 will be 900 points and will be a Capture and Hold the Station (Modified Capture the station). Battle Log Max/Min is 15/-15 Round 6 will be 1000 points and will be a Border Clash. Battle Log Max/Min is 15/-15 Random Rule Clarifications: I did some rereading of the rules and I realized I had made some teaching mistakes (basically pulling off rules from 1.5) 1: All ships linking point defense MUST be in command distance of the ship they are protecting. 2: Terran impact is determined by base contact NOT peg contact. 3: To receive the benefits of a Gravity Slingshot you must be within 4 inches of the planetoid during your command phrase/beginning of your movement phrase (IE you have to start within 4 inches to receive the benefit).
