First...A Healer Does No Harm A new year is upon us...a time to preplan what we want to create for ourselves, our families, our society, our world. When used properly...a gift that gives and can give for generations. What do you want to create in 2015...(and heres the key my friends)...for you? What do you want to leave behind in 2014? I had some old wounds reopened today surrounding injustice and it really got me looking inward on quite a few levels...funny how we want the old wounds to go away even though they have so much to teach us. :) Today, I am happy much, much more than I am not, but I used to be very angry and feel powerless to change it...Ive learned over the last decade plus that changing it is so much easier than I was taught to believe. So many people say that change is hard...its actually the easiest thing in the world to do. I was angry that I was told I was less before I was even given the opportunity to show I could be more. I felt that sense of insignificance that I think almost all of us...who werent born with a sense of entitlement...have felt growing up. And then angry that even when I showed I was more...that it still didnt matter to the powers that be. Working so hard to impress others is a quick way to get your knickers in a twist. I was angry about a great many things and still get seduced almost daily until I simply started enjoying life as it is and being me within it. I started making decisions based upon what would make me happy. What did I want to learn? What did I want to do? Who did I want to have in my life? What did I want to share with the world? Which dream did I want to explore? The neat part was that when I started living for me the love I created became an even more attractive force than the anger was being a repellant. Anger is the mute button, which is why healers who speak with it seldom build an audience. But I digress when I mean to inspire... Whats even sweeter is that as I began to fulfill my needs, my life evolved into one of finding the greatest joy in making the people I attracted happy. My thoughts became What do I want the people I love to learn?What do I want them to feel, to experience, to explore? How can I help them even when they dont ask for it? My happiness has become about helping as many people as I can and with that a wonderful gift of anticipating needs...its like a superhero power or something that everyone already has, but that happiness seems to activate. And as one light inspires another, as one candle touches the wick of another, as someone inspired me and I work to inspire another, Im sure the inspiration will spread further and further...and the happiness grow and grow. After all...given the choice between happiness and anger, which would you rather be? You see...regardless of how seductive it may be to join a chorus of outrage, we cant solve problems with the energy of anger because anger is a weak, fleeting, repellant that mutes the voice as it closed the ears. Why? because its an unpleasant experience...and the problems we have need the love of many. Its hard to feel angry when youre busy feeling loved...starting with you loving you. Its important to love yourself...but to get there its important to like yourself first by asking yourself what you want...for you. I was angry at the many injustices of the world. Angry until I accepted that its not for me, or anyone of us, to change it all over night...but it is for each one of us to change it little by little every day...and just maybe...through our actions inspire a few people we attract to do the same. We dont have to be silent when we see injustice and nor should we. We can be the change we want to see. Who knows if a simple friendly aloha is all someone needed to completely tear down a wall of ignorance theyve been misled to believe in? We can be grateful for all that we have and share it too. Would you really want to be a part of the miserable 1% and all that negative karma they seem to acquire as fast as they do each dollar? Id rather be a part of the 99% awakening to the real power we have to shape the world in the image that best supports the needs of the many. We can help clean our planet. We can help feed the hungry (even if it lands us in jail...looking right at you Florida), We can be good to each other and still make life both conscious and amazing at the same time. And dare I say that doing the right thing can be immensely profitable too. Its all right in front of us to create in 2015 and it all begins by creating happiness right within yourself. We dont have to cut down a tree to celebrate a holiday when we can plant hundreds for the same cost. We dont have to spend money we dont have on gifts when what people really want to know is how much we love them and how much they mean to us. Thats right...we are the gift and we dont have to wait for one day each year to unwrap it. Sometimes the media sensationalizes problems because they need attention...its ok for them not to have our attention everyday...the world will still spin and one day well figure it all out...even if it isnt in our lifetime. Its all part of the perfection. The perfection embodied in the first rule of healing....First, Do No Harm...starting with that very special person looking at you in the mirror. This thing we call life...its all part of the perfection. The good...the bad...the things that make us cringe...and the things that make us cry with a smile right beneath our eyes. We have the power to decide what we want to create and its incredibly easy to do...once you start with the most special person of all...you. In 2015 I choose to see injustice for what it is...opportunity. Opportunity to make our world a better place because in 2015 I am going to flood my heart with happiness and love so I cant possibly keep it to myself.. My New Years Resolution is to First, Do No More Harm...and to inspire as many people as I can to do the same because the most beautiful things you will ever experience will come right after you give yourself this tremendous gift. As God has promised me, he has given me permission to extend this promise to each of you he is touching right now. What beauty will you create in the new year?...I cant wait to find out.
