First Christmas: Mary: Jesus changes everything 12-21-14 Mary was a normal teenage girl, from a nowhere town, who would have married a poor man, who would have traveled not too far from her home, and she would have died like so many other women who lived in that era. But Jesus changed everything. In Luke 1:28-29 we are told, The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you. Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. Chosen by God to carry His one and only Son, Mary would be blessed not only to give birth to the Christ-child, but to watch Him grow into a man, and eventually embrace Him as her Savior. Jesus changed everything for Mary and He can do the same for us. This Sunday we will discover that Jesus can truly change our lives as well.
