First Glance had a song called Roller that really introduced us to folks outside of Canada and then the follow up album, Harder Faster produced the tunes Say Hello and I Like To Rock which strengthened our following worldwide. But it was the Nature of The Beast and this song, Just Between You and Me, that made the biggest impact everywhere. The solo on this song was almost not there; The band finished the album tracks and flew back to Canada (We recorded this record in England) I stayed to mix the album with co producer Mike Stone. We we got to this song, I didn`t like the solo that was on tape so I told to Mike that I wanted to redo it. Because my gear was no longer in England I had no guitar, so I borrowed an Ibanez guitar, plugged it into a distortion pedal box called a RAT and went directly into the mixing board (Neve ) to 24 track tape. We liked the new solo and it stayed. Many, many times I`ve been compliment on the solo and asked how did I get that great guitar sound, well now you know. Just saying...:)
