First I am a big supporter of our farmers. I am also a cancer - TopicsExpress

First I am a big supporter of our farmers. I am also a cancer paitent. The increase in cancer began approximately at the same time as Monsanto, Dupont and others began to manipulate genes and the use of growth hormones in animals. I see there are several discussions about the GMO issue here on facebook, so I began to look on the internet why there have been so few studies. All of the studies conducted have been controlled by the large companies. There have been NO independent studies conducted. Now this source is unknown to me as to their biases, but I did find this on globalresearch.ca/gmo-scandal-the-long-term-effects-of-genetically-modified-food-on-humans/14570 In the article it discussed the reason why no independent studies have been done. I quote: Monsanto, Pioneer (DuPont) and Syngenta require anyone buying their GMO seeds to sign an agreement that explicitly forbids that the seeds be used for any independent research. Scientists are prohibited from testing a seed to explore under what conditions it flourishes or even fails. They cannot compare any characteristics of the GMO seed with any other GMO or non-GMO seeds from another company. Most alarming, they are prohibited from examining whether the genetically modified crops lead to unintended side-effects either in the environment or in animals or humans. end of quote. I have just one question, if corn has a pesticide that cause insects who bite to die before laying eggs, how can it be good for you? Seems like licking a pesticide popsicle to me. I just dont want us to find out 10 years from now that all of our children and grandchildren are dying of cancer because no studies were done to find out what really happens when you modify Gods handiwork. Do you as a farmer have to sign such an agreement when you buy seeds? Do you sign anything which says you agree to their terms without reading it? I would like to debunk this information but I do realize I have my cancer under control by eating more naturally and organically. Drs. had given me no hope but nutrition has done it for me. I do appreciate the fact that farmers are able to increase their production with the GMOs and that is good for everyone, just dont want to throw the baby out with the bath water.
